The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (MOMRA) organizes the “Second Saudi Arabia Urban Forum 2018” in Riyadh, during October 15-17, 2018, in collaboration with the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat), within the framework of the technical cooperation of the “Future Saudi Cities Program.
The 7th session was chaired by Ms. Jawahar Al-Sudairy, Director of the Al Nahda Research Center which discussed women’s needs in the urban environment and empowering women in designing and planning future cities and creating new opportunities to increase women’s contribution to the workforce from 22% to 30%.
At the end Ms. Jawaher concluded that the upcoming sessions will focus on studying the impact of women’s presence as an essential element in urban planning and the urban environment in general.
